Surgical Techniques

Dr. Moghimi (pronounced "Mo-He-Me") was born in Detroit, Michigan but quickly found his way to Texas. He was raised in the suburbs of Dallas and then attended Southern Methodist University (SMU) for College. There, Dr. Moghimi earned bachelors' degress in both chemistry and biology, all while graduating with honors. He then attended the University of Texas Medical School in Houston where he graduated with the highest honor given to medical students in the nation, Alpha Omega Alpha (AOA).  Dr. Moghimi then completed his orthopedic residency training at the prestigious Baylor College of Medicine where he received numerous awards including top junior resident, top senior resident, highest in training exam score, and national awards including the American Orthopedic Association top resident award.  Dr. Moghimi concluded his training with a fellowship in spinal surgery at Harvard (Massachusetts General hospital and Brigham and Women's Hospital) under the mentorship of Christopher Bono and Kirkham Wood.  He has published multiple book chapters, peer reviewed journal articles, and has presented at national meetings.  Dr. Moghimi now practices in Austin, Texas
